It is was written in a pre-Jawi (Arabic/Malay) script, the Kerinci surat incung script. The book contains transliterations and translations of various parts of the documents. As James T Collins states in an earlier work the research lays “a major part of a foundation for rewriting the history of Malay in Indonesia.”
