Unseen Siam: Early Photography, 1860 – 1910

Researched from diverse and extensive source materials (including directories, city archives, field notes, postcards etc), Unseen Siam reveals the careers of 15 photographers (some well known, others less so), who worked in Siam, many becoming court photographer to the then monarch King Chulalongkorn. Their work was not restricted to photographic cartes-de-visites, as was often the case, but also included large images from attributable albums and portfolios. Each reproduced image is fully catalogued and in many cases identifies the name of the photographer behind many well known images for the first time.
